degree.
|
11.
Libra can be reasonably associated with the sexually-unitive,
form-generating sacral center, and with the decision-making,
force-balancing, triadally responsive ajna center. Libra
has so much of the third ray (as do its rulers Uranus and Saturn,
with Venus ruling Taurus, the sign of the throat) that throat
center influence is to be expected. Libra can be connected be
connected with the center at the base of the spine, from
which stems the Sushumna—the “royal road” to Shamballa. (cf. EA 168)
|
|
11. Aquarius can be reasonably
associated with the entire abundantly-radiating, synthetic
crown center, and the united radiation of the chakra
centers as a whole. When the ajna center responds to
the universal mind, the envisioning of the archetypally-destined
future appears. Aquarius transmits the third ray, and thus
relates to the throat center (through ruling Saturn,
Uranus and Vulcan as well). Aquarius, is esoterically ruled
by Jupiter, the planet controlling the group-inclusive heart
center. The evolving Aquarian is subject to many emotional
highs and lows, thus connecting Aquarius to the solar plexus
center. (EA 141-142) Also, through Uranus, with the form-creating
sacral center which generates “waters of life” in a
more material sense. As well, seventh-ray Uranus is numerically
related to the seventh or basal center, bringing Aquarius
into the relation.
|
12.
The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being
(EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Libra governs the
‘Path of Return”, by means of which the immersed Monad regains
its originating source. (cf.
EA 168) Libra also endows the Monad with power from the
Dragon and Pleiades and ensures that the Monad performs its
part in the balancing of planetary karma, for
every Monad is a cell within the planetary Logos.
|
|
12.
The zodiacal signs influence the Monad of every human being
(EA 411, 637, TCF 1191); the influence from Aquarius governs
the large monadic groups or ‘monadic ashrams’, which
aggregations exist upon the monadic plane. The universal
awareness of the Monad is inspired and enhanced by the Aquarian
energy. The Monad is a ‘center of synthesis’ and a ‘center within
synthesis’. The Aquarian energy stimulates the universality
and synthetic awareness of the Monad.
|
13.
In relation to the Triad—it can be said that Libra (the ruler
of the third manifested Creative Hierarchy—the Triple Flowers)
rules the Spiritual Triad as a whole. Within the Triad
Libra, transmitting constellationally (exoterically) only the
third ray, and related to “super-mind”, is clearly influential
in relation to the higher mind—higher manas. Libra and
Saturn are also express through the atmic plane, and
hence are related to the principle—atma—Spiritual Will.
Not surprisingly, Libra “admits the soul” to Shamballa. Eventually,
Libra, ruling the union of all polarities, will be shown to
be related to buddhi as well.
|
|
13.
Within the Triad—Aquarius is related principally to higher
manas and to atma as both of them reflect, to differing
degrees, the Universal Mind (EA 241, 322, 495). Aquarius transmits the third
ray constellationally (EA 138), and has rulers or sub-rulers which
do the same. Aquarius “expresses the universal consciousness
of the Great Bear” linking it to atma, in yet another
way. The energy of Aquarius, as well, stimulates and blends
with buddhi, principally by inducing loving group-cohesion.
The Tibetan speaks of “universal love of the truly developed
Aquarian.” (EA 136) This is an expression of buddhi.
|
14.
In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and
causal body) through which it expresses—Libra represents the
skill, wisdom and power of the Solar Angel to supervise a balanced
development in its personality. Libra is one of the major signs
of karma, which the Solar Angel wisely administrates
to ensure that the personality is eventually governed by the
Law of Love.
|
|
14.
In relation to the Solar Angel, and the soul-consciousness (and
causal body) through which it expresses—Aquarius represents
the dowering of the personality with all super-human, transcendental
gifts which the Solar Angel may safely bestow. Aquarius represents
the patient service of the Solar Angel to its long-developing
personality, and the consequent elevation of the human soul
from the human to the super-human state of the fifth kingdom—the
Kingdom of Souls. Aquarius rules the generous distribution of
beneficent Solar-Angelic radiation to (and through) its
personality
|
15.
Within the Personality—Libra can be identified with the evaluative,
judicial and decision-making processes of the lower
mental nature; with balancing and proportion-inducing
processes within the astral nature; with the harmonizing
of energy flows within the etheric nature; and, in general,
with the energetic balance of the dense physical form.
Libra has a special connection with the mental permanent
atom. (EA 302) (The vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the
stage of evolutionary development.)
|
|
15.
Within the Personality—Aquarius can be identified with the power
to vitalize, unify and synthesize thought,
which eventually develops within the lower mental nature; with
the cleansing, drying, and eventual distributive
radiation of the love-responsive astral nature; with the
electric vitalization of the etheric nature; and, in
general, with the nervous animation of the dense physical
form. Aquarius “is eventually connected with the physical permanent atom.”
(EA 302) (The
vehicular focus and its degree of prominence, depends upon the
stage of evolutionary development.)
|
16.
Stage of Meditative Consciousness: Contemplation. “Libra—Contemplation—Life of soul and form is balanced. Neither dominates.

2.
Related cosmically to the Pleiades. “Libra—is
related to and transmits the potencies of the Pleiades.” (EA 349)
Libra is also related to the Dragon and the Dragon to the Pleiades.
“The adepts who choose this Path are called esoterically the ‘beneficent dragons,’
and the energy with which they work and the stream of living force
upon which they are found emanates from the constellation of the
Dragon, working through the zodiacal sign Libra.” (TCF 1245) D.K.
speaks of the “…buddhic force, which is transmitted via the Seven
Sisters or the Pleiades from a constellation called the Dragon…”
(TCF 1162) Libra is related to one of the stars in the Great Bear. (A triangle?—Mizar-Libra-Sun?)
(R&I 404)

|
2.
Strong cosmic association with the Pole Star, Alcyone, also an
invisible constellation, and the Great Bear: “The
influence which emanates from the Pole Star and which is such

“Aquarius, Alcyone and Humanity constitute a most interesting
triangle of force. Alcyone is one of the seven Pleiades and is
called the ‘star of the Individual’ and sometimes the ‘star of
intelligence’.” (EA 200) “The source of energy to which they respond
may be regarded as the Pole Star. It should nevertheless be pointed
out that this star serves only as a blind for a constellation
which lies behind,—a constellation which exists only in etheric
matter. It is consequently ignored by astronomers, though its
influence is exceedingly potent within our system.” (TCF 1262)
Also, “Aquarius—expresses the universal consciousness of
the Great Bear.” (EA 349)

Aquarius
|
1.
Libra transmits the third ray, constellationally.
|
|
1.
“The third ray expresses itself powerfully through” Aquarius
constellationally. (EA 138). Aquarius is also the third sign of
the zodiac on the clock-wise wheel, therefore having numerical
affinity with the third ray. Uranus transmits the third
ray (probably through its personality) as does Saturn (considered
an alternative ruler in this sign) through its Monad, and probably,
also, its soul. The Moon-veiled Uranus also transmits the third
ray.
|
2.
Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac on both the reversed
and ordinary wheels and, hence, has numerical affinity with the
seventh ray.
|
|
2.
Uranus transmits the seventh ray. Saturn has strong seventh
ray associations. Jupiter (esoteric ruler) transmits the seventh
ray.
|
3.
Libra is the sixth sign on the clockwise wheel, IF one begins
counting with Pisces (which, at one point, the Tibetan does).
This mode of counting relates Libra to the sixth ray.
|
|
3.
Neptune (a Moon-veiled hierarchical ruler) transmits the
sixth ray. Enthusiastic Jupiter has a probable connection
to the sixth ray.
|
4.
Libra is the second sign of the zodiac on the reversed
wheel IF one counts in polarities (Aries-Libra, Scorpio-Taurus,
Gemini-etc.). This mode of counting relates Libra to the second
ray.
|
|
4.
Aquarius is the eleventh sign on the reversed wheel. Since
eleven sums to two, Aquarius has numerical affinity with
the second ray. Jupiter, the esoteric ruler of Aquarius,
transmits the second ray. Neptune, a Moon-veiled hierarchical
ruler, transmits the second ray monadically. Vulcan (a
Moon-veiled hierarchical ruler) is associated with the “heart
of the Sun” (EA ), and Uranus (exoteric ruler) is placed in
a line of second ray transmission from Sirius, and participates
in the three lower vehicles (probably as the mental body) of
a great second ray Entity (EPII 99)
|
5.
Libra, because of its oscillatory nature, may well have some subtle
fourth ray associations—destined to emerge more in other
world periods. Venus, too, seems to have the higher more
harmonious part of the fourth ray associated with it. But
there are no direct fourth ray connections linking these
two constellations.
|
|
5.
The Moon (hierarchical ruler) is the veiling transmitter of the
fourth ray. Moon-veiled Vulcan is closely related to the
fourth ray, the fourth kingdom, and the fourth
initiation. Neptune ( a Moon-veiled hierarchical ruler)
is associated with the fourth ray through its relationship to
buddhi, and to the fourth , or buddhic, plane.
|
6.
Venus, exoteric ruler of Libra, is closely associated with the
sixth ray (TCF 595), and
probably transmits this ray monadically.
|
|
6.
See #3 above.
|
7.
Venus transmits the fifth ray.
|
|
7.
Aquarius transmits the fifth ray constellationally. Uranus,
the exoteric ruler, (and a veiled hierarchial rulers) can
stand for “exoteric science” (EP 149) and, hence, has fifth ray associations.
Saturn, a possible alternative ruler, is associated with the concrete
mind and, hence, with the fifth principle. Vulcan, (a
veiled hierarchical ruler) relates to the concretion and physical
precipitation, as does the fifth ray.
|
8.
Venus “pure love wisdom” can be considered as transmitting the
second ray.
|
|
8.
See #4 above.
|
9.
Uranus, ruling Libra esoterically, transmits the seventh
ray.
|
|
9.
See #2 above.
|
10.
Uranus transmits the first ray “esoterically”—i.e., monadically.
“Uranus is the home of ‘fire electric’.” (TCF 1154)
|
|
10.
Aquarius, itself, may have implicate first ray associations.
“Aquarius—expresses the universal
consciousness of the Great Bear” (EA 349) The Great Bear
(as a whole) transmits the first ray. (cf. TCF 146). Aquarius, is the tenth sign on the reversed
wheel, numbering by polarities (Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio, etc.)
and thus has numerical resonance with the first ray. Uranus,
the exoteric ruler, transmits the first ray monadically.
(EPI 421) Saturn, a possible alternative ruler in Aquarius, transmits
the first ray probably in its personality, but perhaps
its soul. (EA 450) Moon-veiled Vulcan and Uranus both transmit the first
ray—the first as the monadic ray, the second, probably, as the
soul ray.
|
11.
Uranus expresses the third ray. (EA 138, 200)
|
|
11.
See #1 above.
|
12.
Saturn, the hierarchical and exalted ruler of Libra, expresses
the third ray monadically, and probably through its soul
(thought this would mean that Monad and soul expressed the same
ray.
|
|
12.
See #1 above. |
13.
Saturn transmits the first ray.
|
|
13.
See #10 above.
|
14.
Saturn has seventh ray associations, through its rulership
of the systemic physical and cosmic physical planes.
|
|

Similarities
and Points of Cooperation Between the Influences |
Similarities
and Points of Cooperation
Between the Zodiacal Influences
Both
Libra and Aquarius are air signs and hence closely associated with
all relational matters, social matters, intellectual matters. These
are signs which concern themselves with how people interact, how
they relate.
Both
are concerned with establishing and refining the social contract.
Libra is paramountly the sign of right human relations and of the
laws and morays and manners which guarantee these. And Aquarius
is concerned with the redefinition of the entire social pattern
and with the unification of society so that it works together as
one coordinated unit.
These
are both very human signs and in both of them much is learned through
direct human interaction. Libra develops a keen knowledge of human
nature through its ability to relate cooperatively with many different
kinds of people. And Aquarius is well known as the student of human
nature and has the ability to identify with all kinds of human beings.
Hence, the warning in the evolutionary mantram for Aquarius, all
things to all men.
In both of
these signs, the principle of egoism represented by the Sun must
be diminished in power, for the Sun falls in Libra and the lower
personal ego must be sacrificed in the give and take of partnership.
And the Sun is in detriment in Aquarius and the group demands
the sacrifice of separative individualism in order for its processes
to be successful.
These signs
are united as well by their relation to the planet Uranus, the
exoteric ruler of Aquarius and the esoteric ruler of Libra. This
means that not only are the patterns of social interaction designated
by these signs, but they are renovated as well and made closer
to the archetypal intention. In other words, new forms of social
interaction arise in both signs.
Saturn is
the hierarchical ruler of Libra and also the exalted ruler and
Saturn is sometimes associated with Aquarius as well. This
means among other things that there will be a limitation of self
expression in both signs since Saturn from one point of view is
the opponent of the lower egoism of the Sun and that purely spontaneous
inconsiderate self expression is checked in both signs, in Libra
by the consideration for others and in Aquarius by the consideration
for cooperative group processes.
From a certain
perspective, both Libra and Aquarius are involved in the refinement
of human nature, for both signs are much associated with culture
and the arts. Libra brings things into perfect form and beautiful
expression and Aquarius is a major sign of social creativity and
is concerned with the sharing of the harvest of society, its best
fruits made available for distribution. This is what culture performs.
From another
perspective, both signs may be negatively involved in the loss
of selfhood, in Libra through partnership and in Aquarius through
‘groupiness’, being absorbed by the
standards of the group with the consequent loss of individuality
and center. But the positive side of this is the kind of altruism
that is found in both signs for the other person is truly known
and respected and a blow against selfishness is struck.
Of
course we must remember that depending upon which way the
wheel is turning, the natives of any sign can be either selfish
or unselfish, but certain signs contribute directly to the dissolution
of selfishness in a definite way and such are these signs in which
the Sun either falls or is in detriment.
In both signs,
we also find a fair measure of deviation from accepted human patterns
of behavior. Of course, Libra is involved in establishing accepted
human patterns of behavior, but the experimental attitude does
exist, and this is certainly so for Aquarius. This is mediated
via the planet Uranus and the sacral center over which Uranus
presides. So, through experimental, scientific Uranus and willful
Uranus, we have the invention of new patterns of interaction and
some of them definitely not natural or at least deviating sharply
from the norm.
The Sun in
this case can be considered to be the principle of natural law
and we remember that the Sun both falls and is in detriment in
these two signs.
It should
also be said that these are two highly mental signs, the third
Ray coming principally through Libra and the fifth through Aquarius.
Either the
scientific or the philosophical attitude can be easily developed
and the higher levels of mind as well as the concrete mind both
come under the influence of these two signs, but especially the
universal or atmic mind. Suffice it to say that there is much
concerning the mind of God which is influenced by these two signs.
Interestingly,
they are both strongly related to astrology, Libra through its
great excess of third Ray and its power to study relationships
which the third Ray confers and astrology certainly is an aspect
of the great science of relations and Aquarius through its facility
with the great science of cycles. Remember too that Aquarius is
the third sign counting clockwise from Aries and is much related
to the third aspect of Divinity.
It’s connection
with the star Alcyone and hence with the Pleiades will demonstrate
this.
So each sign
is powerful in grasping the great network of relationships as
