Sun or Ascendant in Pisces with Ray 6
.
Sun Pisces (or Ascendant Pisces), R6P (or R6S)
Plus Constellationally Transmitted R2 and R6A strong mutual reinforcement of ray and astrological energies emerges due to the constellational transmission of the sixth ray—though not in greatest strength—through Pisces. The appropriate category of reinforcement would be, Strong by Constellational Transmission.
Additionally the sixth ray is transmitted through the soul of Neptune, a special occult ruler of Pisces, and possibly through Jupiter. {The author once speculated that the sixth ray might be the personality ray of enthusiastic Jupiter. This speculation remains to be substantiated}. An additional category of mutual reinforcement might be Strong by Special Rulership—for, indeed, Neptune is a special ruler of Pisces, and not a conventional ruler in either of the three categories of rulership. Yet Neptune is powerful and influential, and must be acknowledged for its rulership role. Of course, the strength of this special rulership, reinforces the Pisces/sixth ray interplay.
Additionally, Pluto has its solar plexus and hence sixth ray associations. Is the soul ray of Pluto the sixth? We must remember that Pluto rules obsessions ,which are a “speciality” of those upon the sixth ray! Were the sixth ray to be the soul ruler of Pluto (a non-sacred planet, presumably with a first ray personality), then the category of mutual reinforcement, Strong by Rulership—Class 2 and Class 3, could be added.
Further, the general astro-rayological mutual reinforcement of Pisces and the sixth ray is strengthened through Mars as the ruler of the third decanate {considered in esoteric order} and of the first {viewed in exoteric order}.
Selfish, Self-centered or Self-Serving Human Being
i. The credulity and unrealistic attitudes of the self-imprisoned Pisces person combines with a passionately-driven, blind faith induced within the insufficiently spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.
ii. The combination which has produced the Piscean Age.
iii. Unreasoning belief. Blind faith. Irrationality. Emotionality without mind.
iv. Excessive zeal and fanaticism (albeit with a very emotionally-watery content).

Advanced Disciple; the Initiate
Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign, Pisces, with the sixth ray as either the ray of the personality or souli. The longing to serve, save and redeem—a longing progressively possessed by the soul-infused disciple/initiate born in or under the sign Pisces, combines with a selfless devotion capable of extreme self-renunciation—a devotion induced within the soul or spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.

5. Expresses through the solar plexus center and, at a later stage of evolution, through the ajna center (cf. EH 149)
6. Creative Hierarchy number I, liberated
6. Creative Hierarchy number IV, and Creative Hierarchy number VI/XI, unliberated
7. Hypothesized as especially expressive in relation to the Vegetable Kingdom via Neptune, Jupiter, R2 and R6, the Kingdom of Souls via Neptune, Jupiter and R2, the Kingdom of Planetary Lives via Jupiter, R2 and R6. (There is also some justification that Pisces should be considered expressive in relation to the consummating Kingdom of Solar Lives—a Shamballic Kingdom).

Energetic Similarities Between Pisces and R6Utilize these similarities to further understand how these two energies may combine with or reinforce each other (for better of for worse) when they are found within the same energy system.
A. The Sixth Ray is Transmitted Through Pisces: Pisces and the sixth ray are closely connected, as the sixth ray is transmitted through the constellation Pisces (along with the second).
B. Astralism and the Astral Plane: Pisces (a water sign) relates to the astral plane and its phenomena. The sixth ray is considered to govern the astral plane which, numerically, is the sixth plane counting from above downwards. This means that the solar plexus center is strongly conditioned by each of these energies, and is powerfully conditioned when the two energies occur together.
C. Linked Through the Monad: Pisces and the sixth ray unite in their relationship to the saving monad (Pisces) on the sixth plane counting from below (resonant with the sixth ray).
D. Linked Through the Solar Angels: Pisces and the sixth ray are also closely related to the Solar Angels, which are saving Angels (Pisces) and which, in their own ways, exhibit ceaseless, persevering devotion (sixth ray).
E. Abstraction: Both energies are, in a way, abstractive. Pisces relates to the abstraction of pralaya and the sixth ray is the Ray of Abstract Idealism. Thus, both tend to separate themselves from the material world and even from the three worlds of normal human evolution.
F. Linked Through Religion: Pisces and the sixth ray condition the religions of the world, and have a special connection to the Christian religion.
G. Devotion and Sacrifice: The theme of devotion unto death is common to both energies. Sacrifice is a keynote sounded by both energies. The reverse side of this indication is fanaticism, which will stop at nothing, even death, to ensure that its desires and intentions are fulfilled.
H. Idealism: Each energy, in its own way, is highly idealistic.
I. Linked During the Last Two Thousand Years: Both energies have been dominant for the past two thousand years, and are related for this very reason. The ray cycle occurring during a precessional age is not necessary linked to the rays which are transmitted through the sign in power during that age. In this case however, the sixth ray reinforces the sign, Pisces. So many of their characteristics are so similar, that there has been an unusually heavy emphasis upon faith, idealism, devotion and emotion.
J. Addiction: These two energies unite in the area of addiction. The addicts of the world (no matter to what they may be addicted—alcohol, narcotics, sex, religion—are often characterized by one or the other or both of these energies.
K. Otherworldliness and Impracticality: Both Pisces and the sixth ray share a reputation for otherworldliness and worldly impracticality.
L. Related to Glamor: Both energies are connected to the factor of glamor. Pisces, with its intuitive abilities, contributes to the dispelling of illusion.
M. Hiding and Retreat: Both influences have a retreative quality, which lead to the cloister (hiding from the world)
N. Instinctuality: Both energies are closely related to the instinctual nature—especially as expressed through the lunar lords, which are unconscious elemental lives with a will (an instinctual will) of their own.
O. Obsession and Possession: Both energies appear in matters of obsession and possession—often from the astral plane. Pisces gives the necessary passivity and negativity which admits the obsessing or possessing entity. The sixth ray is prone to seek guidance, which is another open door.
P. Loss of Center: Both energies incline to a an initial “loss of center”; at least it may take a while before the truly individual center is found. Initially Pisces focusses vaguely and identifies too completely with the environment. This militates against the self-separation through which the personal ego can be built. The sixth ray is always looking outside itself for guidance; thus it seems to locate its center in others.
Q. Related to Lords of Compassion: Both Pisces and the sixth ray are related to the Lords of Compassion more than to the Masters of the Wisdom.
R. Relation to Processes Important at the Second Initiation: Pisces is a sign of watery purification and is thus associated with the theme of purification found at the second initiation. The sixth ray is the ray given as governing the second initiation.
S. Related to Certain Processes Important at the Fourth Initiation: The fourth initiation calls, above all, for the quality of sacrifice. This initiation represents a great finality in incarnational life. Pisces endows the initiate with both the Will-to-Sacrifice and the Will-to-Terminate (or Consummate). The sixth ray only fuels this will, and adds a resonance to the acquisition of buddhi, the sixth principle, in which the initiate is able to focus at the time of this degree and following its fulfillment. The sixth ray theme of giving all for the accomplishment of the objective, is particularly useful at a time when devotion to life¸ must finally and for the remainder of human development, overcome devotion to form.
T. Related to Certain Themes in the Sixth Initiation: At the sixth degree the entire past experience of the fivefold “superman” is subject to dissolution and pralaya. The process of “leaving the Earth” (at least, in most cases) has begun. An entirely new cycle of treading a cosmic path is instituted. The sixth ray is naturally, by numerical resonance, related to the sixth initiation. Further, the sixth degree confers the necessary divine vision to choose aright the cosmic path which is to be trodden.
