Sun or Ascendant in Pisces with Ray 2

.

Sun Pisces (or Ascendant Pisces), R2P (or R2S)
Plus Constellationally Transmitted R2 and R6

A strong mutual reinforcement of ray and astrological energies emerges due to the constellational transmission of the second ray—though not in greatest strength—through Pisces. The appropriate category of reinforcement would be, Strong by Constellational Transmission.

Additionally the second ray is transmitted through Jupiter, the exoteric ruler, and, monadically, through Neptune, a special occult ruler of Pisces. Thus, other categories of mutual astro-rayological reinforcement are Strong by Rulership Class-1. The Neptunian influence is all pervasive, but its truly second ray power will only appear in relation to the life of the initiate who can respond to the monadic ray—for Neptune, the second.

The Pisces/second ray mutual reinforcement is strengthened through Jupiter as the ruler of the first decanate {in esoteric order} and of the third decanate {is exoteric order}. Further, Venus is the exalted ruler and transmits the second ray, probably through its personality. As well, the sign Pisces is, as a whole, considered a “cosmic decanate”, the general rulership of which is almost certainly the second ray.)

All in all, any second ray individual born in Pisces, or any Pisces individual born with a strong second ray, will find that an augmentation of both energies has occurred due to the reinforcement patterns operative in this combination.

Selfish, Self-Centered or Self-Serving Human Being

Selfish, Self-centered or Self-Serving Human Being

i.      The attitude of “shrinking back” and remaining invisible characteristic of the self-absorbed Pisces person combines with a fearful oversensitivity often induced within the insufficiently spiritualized personality by the second ray. (These undesirable qualities would be in the nature of a relapse or reversion to a formerly bound condition, as it is not possible to have a first or second ray personality unless one is at least an aspirant. The first or second ray may, however, enter the personality by other lines of influence.)

ii.    Fear, weakness, timidity.

iii.   Oversensitivity. Overly-impressionable, absorbent.

iv.    Deficiency of will. Surrendering. Giving up.

v.    Sliding into compromising situations because of the inability to say, “No”.

vi.    Inability to assert oneself. Weak-willed.

vii.    Retreating. Hiding. Afraid of impacts.

viii.   Escape from responsibility through claims of incapability.

ix.   The glamor of self-pity. Dissolved in tears.

x.    Helplessness and futility.

Advanced Human Being; Aspirant; Disciple: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray of either the ray of the personality or soul.

Advanced Human Being; Aspirant; Disciple

i.      The helpfulness and good-natured approach of the advancing Pisces individual combines with the innate kindness and fellowship progressively induced within the spiritually unfolding personality by the second ray.

ii.    Sincere helpfulness. Expression within the so-called “helping professions”.

iii.      Growing kindness of heart.

iv.     The growth of empathy. Pity for the less fortunate, including the members of the animal kingdom.

v.    The growth of practical, selfless service to one’s fellow human beings.

vi.    On the Path of Discipleship: learning the true meaning of humility.

vii.    On the Path of Discipleship: working as an “invisible helper”. Benevolence behind the scenes.

viii.    On the Path of Discipleship: learning the art of absent healing.

ix.     On the Path of Discipleship: learning to enter the heart of one’s brother:

Rule I.  Enter thy brother's heart and see his woe.  Then speak.  Let the words spoken convey to him the potent force he needs to loose his chains.  Yet loose them not thyself.  Thine is the work to speak with understanding.  The force received by him will aid him in his work”. (TWM 320)

x.    On the Path of Discipleship: learning to release oneself from the claims of the personality.

Advanced Disciple; the Initiate: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray as either the ray of the personality or soul.

Advanced Disciple; the Initiate
Additionally, where relevant,  combine Ascendant Sign, Pisces, with the second ray as either the ray of the personality or soul

i.      The power to serve and save through Love and Wisdom—a power progressively possessed by the soul-infused disciple/initiate born in or under the sign Pisces, combines with a deep and wise sensitivity of the heart (loving-understanding) induced within the soul or spiritualized personality by the second ray.

ii.    Established Christ Consciousness.

iii.   Revelatory empathy based on Divine Love.

iv.    Instinctively putting others first. The “man for others”. “The first shall be last and the last shall be first”. “His brothers need is for him of greater moment than his own” (IHS 193)

v.   Mystical substitution. Serving by taking on the negative conditions of others.

vi.   Absorbing negativity and transforming them into the energies of love and unity.

vii.   Self-sacrifice motivated by love.

viii.   The “pervasiveness of Wisdom”. (EA 136)

ix.   All-inclusive compassion. “…love for all beings, irrespective of who they may be” is a “realised fact in the heart…” (IHS 192)

x.    Saviourship.

Discover Potentials to be Derived from
Energetic Similarities Between Pisces and R2

Utilize these similarities to further understand how these two energies may combine with or reinforce each other (for better of for worse) when they are found within the same energy system.

A.     The Second Ray is Transmitted Through Pisces: Pisces and the second ray are closely related, as the second ray is transmitted through Pisces, constellationally. One day Pisces (now the second ray decanate associated with a still greater zodiac) will be the foremost distributor of the second ray—a position which Virgo now holds and Gemini will, perhaps, soon hold.

B.     Mother-Love, Buddhic Love: From a certain perspective, both Pisces and the second ray are identified with the mother—at least with buddhic, mother-love.

C.     Linked Through the Theme of Salvation: Both Pisces and the second ray are closely associated with the theme of salvation.

D.     Self-Effacement: Both are identified with self-effacement, putting others first.

E.      Detachment Through Love: Both energies represent the ability to achieve detachment through love.

F.      Abiding: Both energies develop the capacity to abide, to remain with. “Lo, I am with you, even unto the end of the Age”.

G.     Patience and Long-Suffering: Both are deeply identified with the theme of patience and long-suffering.

H.     Sensitivity and Self-Pity: Both are energies which incline those they influence to great sensitivity, and negatively to self-pity.

I.     Fear and Retreat: Both are energies which produce fear as well as sensitivity. In both cases there is to be found a shrinking back in the face of threatening or unpleasant circumstances.

J.       Intuition: Both energies are closely related to the intuitive faculty, to buddhi and the buddhic plane.

K.     Related to the Solar Angels: Both energies are intimately related to the nature and function of the Solar Angels, who are great saviors (Pisces), and are, as well, “Hearts of Fiery Love” (distributing the second ray—the energy of the soul).

L.      Psychism: Pisces is the preeminent sign of psychism, and the second ray is the ray of “the true psychic”. (DN 145)

M.    Agony and Suffering: Both energies seen to produce agony and suffering. The Piscean presentation of the Christ has been almost entirely characterized by these themes. Of those upon the second ray, D.K. writes, “Hence, therefore, the ability of the person upon this ray to ‘agonise towards the goal, carrying the burden of the world, learning—through identification with others—a detachment which, as time proceeds, negates all pain’.”

N.     Surrender: Both energies ultimately induce surrender, after much agony, to the higher will. The Piscean presentation of Christianity has been based upon the theme of surrender (through belief and acceptance) to the Christ. In the Garden of Gethsemene, the Christ (wishing, so it seems to save humanity by a method utilizing primarily Divine Love) came to the point of surrendering to the Will of the Father which offered another and higher method of salvation.

O.     Related to the Process at the Second Initiation: Pisces is related to the “waters of purification” in which the disciple is bathed at the second initiation. The tears of Pisces purify; sorrow purifies. The second initiation correlates with the second ray, and the second ray is much needed and much in evidence a the second initiation—even though the initiation is governed principally by the sixth ray. Interestingly, the three planets especially powerful at the second initiation (Neptune, Jupiter and Venus) are all transmitters of the second ray (on some level of their expression). It is additionally interesting to note that all three of these planets are associated with Pisces: Jupiter is the orthodox ruler; Neptune is a special ruler concerning humanity as a whole; and Venus is the planet exalted. A new program of selflessness is instituted at the second initiation; Pisces and the second ray are ideally suited to condition a less selfish, more selfless approach.

P.      Related to the Process at the Fourth Initiation: At the fourth initiation, it is the heart center which is particularly stimulated and unfolded. Pisces finds expression through the heart center; further, the heart center is particularly governed by the second ray. The fourth degree sees buddhi (sixth principle—second ray) elevated into a new position of power. As the means of instituting this buddhic livingness, a great renunciation  is demanded. Over this renunciation, Pisces presides. The causal body is destroyed; the destructive nature of Pisces (ruled by Pluto) can be utilized. Interestingly, it is the second aspect of the will which is active at the Crucifixion Initiation. Pisces and the second ray are strongly correlated to this second aspect. “What, therefore, brings about the destruction of the soul body?  The destroying agent is the second aspect of the Will”. (R&I 216)
