Sun or Ascendant in Capricorn with Ray 6

Sun Capricorn (or Ascendant Capricorn), R6P (or R6S)
Plus Constellationally Transmitted R1, R3 and R7

Only a mild mutual reinforcement of ray and astrological energies emerges due to the transmission of the sixth ray, monadically, through Venus, the hierarchical ruler of Capricorn. For most people, this influence will be entirely negligible. For some high initiates, who can be responsive to the monadic energy of Venus, it may mean something. The appropriate category of reinforcement would be Mild by Rulership.

Even though Venus is the ruler of the second decanate of Capricorn, it will add very little in terms of the sixth ray, since so few are of sufficient development to respond to it. It would seem that a powerful ajna center development would be required to respond to the envisioning potentials of the sixth ray through Venus. The sixth ray is, however, somewhat reinforced through the exaltation of Mars in Capricorn. This will affect all. Capricorn, though it is an earth sign, does have some associations with water. Capricorn is, after all, the “Sea Goat”, and the advanced individual in Capricorn is known as the “The one who crosses the water”. {EA 333})

Selfish, Self-Centered or Self-Serving Human Being

Selfish, Self-Centered or Self-Serving Human Being

i.  The crystallized rigidity of the self-absorbed, ‘self-certain’ Capricorn person combines with the narrow, fixed orientation induced within the insufficiently spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.

ii. Desire-driven ambition.

iii. The orthodox visionary. Materialistic religion.

iv.  Or making of materialism, a religion. Devotion (sixth ray) to materialism (Capricorn)

v. Fixed, unbending ideas of the truth.

vi.   Rigid idealism—a factor contributing to the Spanish Inquisition (the personality sign of Spain being Capricorn) but, in general, to all inquisitions.

vii.  Fear of abandoning (sixth ray) the traditional structure (Capricorn).

viii. A passion to forcibly impose ones conclusions on others. This is more that mental imposition. It can be militant, armed, law-enforced, politically motivated imposition.

ix. Devotion (sixth ray) to fixed and set forms (Capricorn).

x. Brittleness. Emotionally rigid crystallization.

xi. Passion (sixth ray) and cruelty (Capricorn and the sixth ray) combined.

xii.  Sadistic enforcement. Forcing formulas and creeds upon others.

xiii. Complete imprisonment by the lunar lords (ruled by the sixth ray).

xiv. Unbending and irrational adherence to certain articles of faith—whether religious, political or economic.

Advanced Human Being; Aspirant; Disciple: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray of either the ray of the personality or soul.

Advanced Human Being; Aspirant; Disciple

i.   The attitude of moral rectitude characteristic of the advancing Capricorn individual combines with the highly principled idealism induced within the spiritually unfolding personality by the sixth ray.

ii. Vision which leads by practical steps to the “mountain top of life”.

iii. The practical mystic or practical idealist. The synthesis of idealism (ray six) and practicality (Capricorn) .

iv.    Intent upon elevation.

v. High-minded, and highly principled.

Advanced Disciple; the Initiate: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray as either the ray of the personality or soul.

i.  The power to see and understand synthetically (as if from the “mountaintop”)a power increasingly possessed by the soul-infused disciple/initiate born in or under the sign Capricorn, combines with the will to control by means of the “Highest Light” induced within the soul or spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.

ii. Experiencing heights of abstraction. The “mountain top” is symbolic of a still-material point of greatest abstraction—all lines meeting in the elevated point. The sixth ray is the Ray of Abstract Idealism, and elevates one into the realm of pure quality.

iii. Thus, knowing spiritually, that, essentially, one is not of the world.

iv.  Clear-perception. Seeing in the light of Reality.

v. “Supernal light” becomes an applied force for good within the lower worlds. Attempting to conduct one’s life according to the highest and most noble principles of morality.

vi.  Gripped by the determination to elevate and uplift all one touches. One is always pointing to the possibilities of initiation—towards the mountain. Interestingly, Capricorn rules the “Law of Elevation”. The sixth ray is the most upwardly oriented of the rays.

vii.  At the same time, this combination gives the determination to materialize (Capricorn) high ideals (sixth ray). It is one of the combinations which longs for “heaven” to come to Earth.

viii. Seeing and understanding the great divine ideals (sixth ray) which lie behind and within God’s Plan (Capricorn). Comprehending something of the Divine Vision which God, the Divine Idealist, hope to materialize (Capricorn) through His Creation.

Discover Potentials to be Derived from
Energetic Similarities Between Capricorn and R6

Utilize these similarities to further understand how these two energies may combine with or reinforce each other (for better of for worse) when they are found within the same energy system.

A.  Few Connections Between the Two: There are relatively few connections between these two energies.

B. Both Function in Relation to the Ajna Center: They both function through the ajna center. The sixth ray confers “the vision” and Capricorn “sees” through the ajna, brow and “third-eye” (all of these being distinct from each other).

C. Connected Via Venus: Interestingly a strong Venus-connection exists between Capricorn and Venus, for Venus is the hierarchical ruler of Capricorn, and Venus is the “home of the planetary Logos of the sixth ray” (TCF 595)

D. Psychic Perception: The sixth ray is one of the rays promoting psychic perception. (cf. EP II 373) Interestingly, Capricorn is also related to the development of the psychic nature: “These (the form aspect and the psychic nature) reach an eventual concrete perfection in Capricorn…” (EA 341).

E. Powers of Persistence: Though, essentially, very different energies, both Capricorn and the sixth ray generate strong powers of persistence.

F.  Planning and Envisioning the Future: Capricorn, so adept at planning, and the sixth ray, so ready to envision the future, unite in their process. These two energies, taken together, unite the third and sixth “Rule for Inducing Soul Control”—“The Urge to Formulate a Plan” (linked to Capricorn) and “The Quality, Innate in Man, to Idealise” (related to the sixth ray)

G. Respect for Authority: Interestingly, in both types there is to be found a respect for authority. Capricorn will often proceed “by the book”. Many sixth ray types believe in the “Good Book” (of whatever religion or ideology), taking such a book as an incontrovertible authority. Capricorn seeks to the “looked up to” and the sixth ray hopes to find someone or something “to look up to”.

H. Relevant to the Process of the Second Initiation: Each of the first five initiation is, in a sense, ruled by Capricorn. The sixth ray governs the second initiation. Together, Capricorn and the sixth ray provide a measure of the emotional control and aspiration towards the mental life which must be achieved at the second initiation.
