Dear Friends of Humanity and the Hierarchy,

We have embarked upon a project which may bring some measure of meditative assistance to the solution of humanity’s problems. Hierarchy is focussed upon both humanity and Shamballa. We have no business in relation to Hierarchy’s approach to Shamballa, but we can focus, as They do, upon humanity and solutions to its multifarious problems. It will take centuries and the work of all the Ashrams to bring a saner and more spiritual life to the human race, but (in this Era of the Forerunner) disciples must give all they can to strengthen the possibility of solution. This we are attempting to do by working subjectively, imaginatively and with increasing occult-skill-in-action.

Our work is clearly experimental. No doubt it will evolve and we will become more adept in the subjective assistance we seek to offer. What seems difficult today will seem natural tomorrow. We have only to begin, sustain what we begin, and persistently improve the quality of that which we have inaugurated. Our intuition will help us in the refinement of the service we seek to offer.

A few poitns to facilitate utilization of the AAMP Meditations.

  1. Refining the Meditations: The AAMP Meditations will continue to be refined as their use indicates where refinements are would contribute to greater spiritual effectiveness.

  2. Differences in the Meditations: Each of the seven AAMP Meditations is slightly different, as are the seven abbreviated forms

    • The alignments to access the various rays and their patterns of energy-flow are different and distinct from each other.

    • There are also some variations in emphasis, so the meditation sections are not identical.

  3. The Purpose of the Short Forms of Meditation: Although the longer form of the meditations can be preformed expeditiously, the shorter forms may be more convenient. The essence of service to humanity is contained in these shorter forms, which can be performed in ten or fifteen minutes. Whether to use the long or short forms will be up to you. There is no question but that attention to the profound alignments offered in the long forms will empower the meditations, however, we must sometimes adapt to available time .

  4. Performing the Meditations: Regularity is better than an over-enthusiastic embrace of too many meditations. If you wish to experiment with a number of them (or even all) that is fine, but arrive at a program which allows the performance of at least one of them regularly, each week. If you choose to do more than one regularly, please be cautious about overloading yourselves. Quality is more important than quantity.

  5. Familiarity and Speed: Although the full form of the meditations may seem long, familiarity with them will bring you to a point where they can be performed even relatively swiftly.

  6. The List of Committed Meditators: If you decide to perform one or more of the AAMP Meditations each week, you can be put on the list of others who have committed. If you wish to be added, let me know the specifics concerning which meditation or meditations.

  7. Necessary Simplifications: A close and careful study of the major chart of p. 48 of Initiation: Human and Solar, and p. 1238 of A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, will reveal that it is not possible to delineate in words all the alignments and energy flows there suggested. A sufficient number has been indicated to provide you with a sense of how the ray energy in question flows and what may be its various sources. There are, however, a number of unknown factors related to this chart which will only be revealed in time and through close study. I would suggest that you have a copy of the chart available to your sight when you perform the meditations (or that you pictorially memorize the chart). This will allow you to “see” the flows and the whole process will move naturally and relatively swiftly.

  8. The Language of Sound and Color—Our Incomplete Knowledge: The language of sound and color is by no means completely revealed to humanity. Tones and colors have been suggested which are reliably and closely related to the ray qualities we seek to access and distribute, but there are a number of alternative interpretations of the color/sound correspondences, so no finality or ultimate correctness is implied.

  9. Color Samples in the Mediation Text: On occasion different colors have been used in the mediation text as a reminder to the meditators. If you find the color suggested lacking in appropriateness, let your imagination furnish you with a color closer to the ideal.

  10. What to do if your Musical Knowledge is Limited: Those of you who have little or no familiarity with music need not be concerned about the sounding of the OM on particular pitches. The most important approach is to work in the World of Meaning, leaving the sounding of pitches to the tones your voice produces naturally. If you wish to explore this somewhat fourth ray/fifth ray approach to color-tone specificity, I suggest you acquire a little “pitch pipe”—a small circular ‘harmonica’ with all the twelve notes of the chromatic scale. It is then easy to blow softly into the pitch pipe to sound the note you need for any particular mediation, and you can adjust the sounding of the OM o the note you hear. (Whether or not we have musical training, it is a good idea for all students to learn—sooner or later—how to replicate a specific musical note with their voice).

  11. Choosing a Single Focus: When performing AAMP meditations in a physica group, decide beforehand on a particular area of world need, then a focussed and fruitful discussion could follow the meditation.

  12. Imagination and Intuition: Sharpen your visual (and auditory) imagination. If the creative imagination is clear enough and rightly attuned, it becomes a channel for access to the intuition.

  13. Be Definite in Your Formulation of Mantrams: Formulate definite mantrams and thoughts to breathe forth into the thought-atmosphere of humanity. Do not allow these to become vague. The more definite and coherent they are, the more useful they will be.

  14. Enjoy the Process: Enjoy the meditations. Seek to approach them with freshness every time you perform them. They are not just a “duty” but an adventure in contacting higher energies and applying those energies for the welfare of humanity. It can be expected that we will become more adept at this as the months and years pass.

  15. Apply Your Creativity: if you are Inclined, feel free to be creative. The Meditation Form is our guideline, but there is a great deal of room for freedom of approach. When methods of deeper contact and application occur to you, feel free to use them—as long as they are confirmed by what you consider to be your intuition.

  16. Avoiding Presumption: A Cautionary Note: When we do these meditations, we do not presume that we are members of any given Ashram or even affiliated with it (simply because we are performing the meditations). We are simply disciples attempting to build thoughtforms, gathering and transmit energies which may be directly useful to humanity and indirectly useful to the various Ashrams as they work at redeeming humanity. The Hierarchy marshals the thought energy of humanity for constructive purposes. If there exists more constructive thought in alignment with hierarchical purposes, this marshalling can be more effective.

  17. Humility and our Limitations: We are under no illusion that the group accesses the majority of higher energies referenced in the meditations. We are doing well enough if we truly access the energy of Hierarchy and of the Christ. Yet, a coherent sense of the energy flows and an attempt to imagine them provides a broad, illuminated and empowering context in which to perform our work. As such visualizations can be performed quite rapidly and effectively, there is no need to fear that we will become “stuck” in all the intricacies. A general sense of the lines of energy flow is what is desired.

  18. Avoiding Glamor and Illusion: We are approaching these meditations in a spirit of service. The lower ego has to be kept out of it. We seek to become translucent and eventually transparent media through which the invoked/evoked energies may flow. We do not want to imagine that, because we are performing these service meditations, suddenly, the various Masters and Initiates will begin “talking to us” or “talking through us”. We are not channeling. If we do feel that we are making contact with our Ashram and its Personnel (which is always possible given sufficient selflessness and spiritual development), that impression must be rigorously and inwardly tested, and kept to ourselves. That is the Law

  19. Overstimulation: If overstimulation arises persistently:

Friends,

The ‘sphere of our labours’ for humanity and Hierarchy is expanding and stabilizing. The 28 Rules Work, the LAWS Work with its focus on individual esoteric education and upon the Tibetan’s group and individual instructions in Discipleship in the New Age, and, now, these AAMP Meditations, give us an encompassing approach to esoteric meditation, study and service. Not all of us are involved in all of these labours, but it is well for us to realize that we are approaching our training in a spirit of esoteric comprehensiveness tending towards synthesis.

I will keep you informed of necessary developments. You also may write to me (including Stefan and Tuija in the email) with your thoughts and observations.
