Sun or Ascendant in Aquarius with Ray 6

Sun Aquarius (or Ascendant Aquarius), R6P (or R6S)
 Plus Constellationally Transmitted R5

A rather weak mutual reinforcement of ray and astrological energies emerges expressing only through the sixth ray component of Neptune, a veiled hierarchical ruler of Aquarius, and through any sixth ray component which may be associated with Jupiter, the esoteric ruler of Aquarius. The operative category of reinforcement would be Weak by Rulership—Class 3.

If one were an initiate capable of responding to Neptune as a veiled hierarchical ruler of Aquarius, then the categorization would be relatively Strong by Rulership—Class 3. It is not yet determined, however, in what degree of strength a veiled hierarchical ruler functions when compared to an unveiled hierarchical ruler. The Moon, hierarchical ruler, transmits the fourth ray, and yet the Moon is “dead” and has no radiation! From whence does this fourth ray come? From veiled Neptune? From veiled Vulcan? Perhaps. But then, how strong is the fourth ray of Neptune and Vulcan {correlated to the ray of the Moon} when compared with the sixth ray and first ray which Neptune and Vulcan, respectively, transmit? All such questions must be tested out in the crucible of astrological experience—to be gathered during coming centuries.

From the decanate perspective, only the very weak addition of the monadically transmitted sixth ray through Venus {esoterically the ruler of the third decanate and exoterically, ruler of the first} can be considered. It is probably a negligible transmission for all except initiates of high degree.

Selfish, Self-centered or Self-Serving Human Being

i.    The willfully-held and indulged opinions of the self-centered Aquarius person combines with the impassioned, narrow point of view induced within the insufficiently spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.

ii.    The impassioned idealist—too passionate.

iii.    Loss of center through external commitments.

iv.    The utopian as an impractical dreamer. Dreaming, illusorily, of that which can never be (at this time). Either the victim of fantasy, or living in the wrong century (or millennium).

v.    ‘Running’ into the imagined future—unwisely, even blindly.

vi.    Ideals which have lost touch with reality. The Nazi “dream”, was much inspired by Aquarius (primitive Fascism) and the sixth ray—Hitler’s drug-inspired utopianism, separated from all true and sound human ideals.

vii.    Ultra-opinionated. Fixed, crystallized, often delusional ideals.

viii.    Impervious to reason—such is the wrongly inspired self-certainty.

ix.    Seizing the ideal of a desirable state—and over-emphasizing it until it becomes a distortion of itself. Over-inclusiveness. Overly-democratic. Overly—this or that—always an exaggeration cause the “undue emphasis” of the sixth ray.

Advanced Human Being; Aspirant; Disciple: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray of either the ray of the personality or soul.

i.    The visionary idealism of the advancing Aquarius individual combines with the future-oriented aspiration induced within the spiritually unfolding personality by the sixth ray.

ii.    Healthy optimism for humanity (though in depressive moments, the very depths of self-rejection, and self-contempt can be experienced.

iii.      Reformational zeal.

iv.     Visions of what may be bring energy and inspiration. One has “nervous energy” beyond one’s physical capacity.

v.    On the Path of Discipleship: increasing capacity to achieve decentralization

vi.     On the Path of Discipleship: a truly idealistic vision of a better world.

vii.    On the Path of Discipleship: inspired by Aquarian ideals and eager to replace the Piscean past with newer ways.

viii.    On the Path of Discipleship: the power to elevate the group with high-minded thought and lofty goals.

ix.     On the Path of Discipleship: the power to achieve cleansing and purification. The strong aspiration of a purified astral nature.

Advanced Disciple; the Initiate: Additionally, where relevant, combine Ascendant Sign with the ray as either the ray of the personality or soul.

i.    The urge to serve the group (and humanity) widely, wisely and well—an urge possessed by the soul-infused disciple/initiate born in or under the sign Aquarius, combines with a tendency to work under the control of the “Highest Light”—a tendency induced within the soul or spiritualized personality by the sixth ray.

ii.     Marked self-sacrifice for the sake of service.

iii.    Undeflectable in the commitment to spend the self in giving.

iv.    Participation in the electrifying energies of the higher worlds, makes the initiate determined to control all lower action in accordance with those energies. “The Highest Light Controls”.

v.     Devoted (sixth ray) to the outpouring of the “Waters of Life” for the benefit of humanity.

vi.    Going to extremes (sixth ray) in the determination to “empty the bowl”. Thus, one becomes the “cup which runneth over”.

vii.     At a very high point of evolution, impassioned determination to “seize on the cup”—the cup of karma—“and swiftly drain, delay not for the pain. The empty cup, the steady hand, the firm and strong endeavour lead to a moment's agony and thence to radiant life”. Through such self-sacrifice, one becomes an energy distributed throughout humanity.

viii.    In the imagery of fire—self-immolation (sixth ray) for the sake of world service.

Utilize these similarities to further understand how these two energies may combine with or reinforce each other (for better of for worse) when they are found within the same energy system.

A.       Idealism: Both Aquarius and the sixth ray share a powerful idealism.

B.     Imposition of Conclusions: Both Aquarius and the sixth ray may seek to impose their conclusions upon others.

C.     Visionary Living: Both influences incline those they influence to become visionaries.

D.     Inspiration from “On High”: Both types are capable of being inspired from on high.

E.     Impelled Towards Service: The impulse towards service is strong in both types. Aquarius is the “world server” as its mantram reveals: “Water of life am I poured forth for thirsty men”. The Law of Service (the third law of the soul) is ruled by the sixth ray.

F.      Self-Sacrifice: Both energies incline those they influence to self-sacrifice. Aquarius carries “the burden of the world”, and the sixth ray seeks self-immolation. In each case, there is a pronounced tendency to renounce the little self in favor of what the soul demands.

G.     Loss of Center—Later, Decentralization: In early days both types suffer from a loss of center. They may have difficulty building a sound ego structure. Later, through devotion to an ideal or cause, they easily become decentralized and consumed by the work to be done.

H.     Relation to Processes Important at the Second Initiation: Both influences can be understood as related to the second initiation. The sixth ray actually governs this initiation, in which the disciple is purified by both water and fire. Water represents the astral plane, and fire represents the burning ground. Mars (transmitting the sixth ray) provides the purifying fires of aspiration which contribute to the burning of all dross. Aquarius cleanses the Augean Stables, and so is part of the purifying process. Although an air sign, significant water imagery is associated with it, thus relating it to the process of purification by water (the second initiation). Aquarius, too, distributes the fires of life, for it is connected with the fires of life, which are becoming initially active at the second degree when Divine Will begins to make its presence felt.

I.    Possible Relation to the Sixth Initiation: Aquarius governs the fourth degree—the end of potential end of incarnational experience—for the Moon (ruling incarnation) is the hierarchical ruler of Aquarius indicating the threefold consummation (body, emotion and mind) of incarnated life. The Moon, also distributes the fourth ray, correlating with this fourth  initiation. The sixth ray, gives the upward tending fire, which is determined to leave the realm of the lunar lords (the Sixth Creative Hierarchy) forever behind. The first of the sixth ray, burns the attachment to these lunar lords; the permanent atoms are consumed.
